Finally!

The Chinese word you see here means 'Welcome.' At long last my visa application was successful which means I can continue on to Stage 2 in the 4Deserts Challenge. After dozens of phone calls, hundreds of emails and text messages, a Chinese Consulate in Scotland, and one very very good friend, I do in fact have a visa and will depart for Beijing on Tuesday, June 22nd.

Arriving in Beijing on the 23rd, I'll spend two nights before taking a 5 hour internal flight to the Xianjiang Province capital, Urumqi. From Urumqi we'll bus somewhere into the Gobi Desert and the race will begin on Sunday, June 27.

Now, how the heck do I get these patches on....?

Good running guys,

Rp
